VAUGHAN HANNIGAN and Decorative Center Houston (DCH) are proud to announce the opening of the MonoVisioN Exhibit, with photographs by Scott Frances, on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. The exhibit will run through June 18, 2012. With a journalist’s need to tell a story simply and his passion for the decorative arts, the photos bridge these interests in carefully balanced compositions and naturally motivated light while conjuring both the rational and intuitive. His captivating images are renowned worldwide, both editorially and commercially.

Opening day, April 18th, will feature a book signing and gallery talk with the artist at 12:30 pm and a reception from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. The exhibition will be on view in Suite 1050 on the First Floor of DCH from 10:00am-3:00pm Monday thru Friday until Monday, June 18. Frances’ exhibition begins a main feature of this year’s Spring Market at DCH. The exhibit is free to the public.

Below are two campaigns Martin Schoeller shot for Advil & Cool Whip earlier this year. mcgarrybowen Chicago collaborated with Martin to shoot their current print campaign for Advil. Using his close-up style, Martin established the look and feel of this ongoing campaign which profiles both celebrities and real people.  For Cool Whip, Schoeller worked with The Martin Agency to shoot real moms who write popular blogs.  In the ads each mom is holding her signature Cool Whip desert.

Check out this beautifully produced behind-the-scenes video documenting a shoot by Erik Almås for Credit Suisse and Euro RSCG London. See how Erik “builds” the final visual using many elements, carefully crafting fantastical landscapes and surreal imagery. The shoot involved traveling to Arizona, Hawaii and Los Angeles to include gorgeous landscapes, set building, and CGI dinosaurs.
