Mark Zibert + PUMA + Usain Bolt + Shevon Stoddart

We’re excited to announce a recent collaboration with PUMA and Mark Zibert, featuring Olympic athletes Usain Bolt and Shevon Stoddart.  Earlier this year, Mark Zibert flew down to Miami to shoot the Puma-sponsored uniforms for the Jamaican Olympic Team. Designed by Cedella Marley, daughter of Bob Marley, Mark photographed her designs which are for the opening ceremony, podium, and race days.

What looks like a projection behind the athletes is actually a 12 ft x 12 ft LED screen, specially designed for photo shoots. Mark then used water on the floor to create a reflection, while allowing the cement texture to show through. The projection displayed both images shot by Mark and personal images of Jamaica from Cedella Marley. Be sure to watch both Bolt and Stoddart compete next week when the Track and Field events begin.

Gilles & Cecilie Studio is featured in Communication Arts’ column, Fresh, this week.  The story outlines their methodology and highlights some of our favorite pieces by the duo.

“As designers we have the ability to have an impact on our environment. We have the aspiration to improve things. We love to be precise, to make things interesting, to make people see things differently.”
