Based in New York, VAUGHAN HANNIGAN is an international artists management agency, dedicated to representing a group of premier artists. The diverse group of photographers and artists represented all cross over into the realms of commercial, editorial, and fine art work.

Founded by Thea Vaughan and Bill Hannigan, the agency is focused on a personalized approach in managing each artist’s career with attentive support and collaboration. The agency brings the same approach to working closely with clients in the creative process. Thea and Bill bring their years of industry experience, as well as background in fine art, to their management of the agency.

VAUGHAN HANNIGAN’s group of artists is unique in talent, constantly striving for innovation and consistently creating new work. From major advertising campaigns and editorial projects to museum and gallery exhibitions, these represented photographers are ever present in the visual world.

Thea Vaughan
After receiving a B.A. in Fine Arts, Thea moved to San Francisco to receive her M.F.A. in Photography & Sculpture. After several years of exhibiting her personal work at galleries in San Francisco, Thea switched gears and went into Advertising at the prestigious Goodby Silverstein & Partners. While there and traveling the country, Thea fell in love with working with Creatives and Photographers and decided to move to New York to pursue Artist Management. Thea became an Advertising Agent for Photographers at a large NY based agency. From there, Thea went on to create and implement the WorldWide Artists Representation division at Corbis, establishing agents around the world and carefully selecting and working with 22 award-winning photographers. Prior to launching VAUGHAN HANNIGAN in 2007, Thea was most recently the VP of Assignment Services at MediaVast, hired to launch a small representation agency. Thea has over 15 years of experience in the Photography, Art and Commercial World.

Bill Hannigan
After receiving a B.F.A. in photography Bill moved south from Montreal to New York City. His early work experience was with two great photography collections, The Time-Life Picture Collection and the archive of the New York Daily News. Through his experience at the Daily News Bill published the book, New York Noir: Crime Photos from the Daily News Archive. He continued to work with several prestigious archives, including the Conde Nast Archive, and went on to Corbis to develop a strategy for their vast archive of physical photographic materials. He went on to have several roles with Corbis including the head of Corbis Outline and Editorial Director for Corbis. Prior to founding VAUGHAN HANNIGAN with Thea, Bill was most recently the SVP of Content Development for MediaVast with direct oversight of Contour Photos, as well as the artist representation strategy. Bill has more than fifteen years of experience in the photo industry and in 2005 was named number nineteen to American Photo’s list of the “100 Most Important People in Photography.” Bill has written several books on photography, and is a contributing writer to Hotshoe and 125 magazine, and is the co-publisher of Pond Press.
